As we venture into the fascinating realm of computer science, the boundless potential of artificial intelligence and machine learning AI beckons us to push the boundaries of what’s possible. We can stay on the fringes or dive deeper to help solve problems and challenges that lie in front of us. There are multiple ways we can move the needle towards a better future and we can decide to be part of that journey. ML
Its been an exciting first two weeks into the AI and ML: Leading Business Growth program by MIT Professional Education! In addition to the technical foundations, one of the most remarkable aspects of this program is the diverse cohort I’m part of. I’m surrounded by 54 talented professionals from 14 countries, each bringing their unique skills and perspectives. Together, we are honing our skills, leveraging our diverse backgrounds, and applying our knowledge to solve real-world business problems. The synergy within our team is inspiring, and I’m confident that our collective efforts will yield remarkable results. goteam5
The basics in solving problems with AI and ML remain the same just as any other business transformation that I have been part of – it’s about connecting the dots between ideas, people and solutions. targetoperatingmodel
Here are some of my key takeaways:
- Overall innovation is here to stay – it may be called by different names.
- To solve the complex problems of today and tomorrow, we need to create teams with complementing skills. It is important how we manage and connect the dots between the functional and technical experts, data scientists, project managers, domain experts, software engineers, lawyers, security experts, and many others.
- AI ML end to end architecture (data sources, data conditioning, machine learning, human machine teaming, users, computing and more) and techniques are key to tapping into the potential to solve the business problems. Understanding the end to end architecture of AI and ML has helped me connect the dots with the application architectures that I am familiar with as part of the large scale business transformation.
- There are multiple techniques within the AI and ML realm, generative AI is one of them.
- As someone who has always been a functional guy, diving into the hands-on technical aspects of AI and ML has helped me appreciate what this entails. I am most excited about learning the nuts and bolts of AI and ML to help make it real for our clients. Some of the key technical components that we have been introduced to:
Terminal in Python: A console, also known as a terminal or command prompt, is a textual interface that allows us to interact with the operating system. It’s like the graphical way we interact with our system using the desktop and mouse.
TensorFlow: An end-to-end machine learning platform that empowers us to find solutions for accelerating machine learning tasks at every stage of our workflow.
Anaconda Navigator: This desktop graphical user interface (GUI) included in Anaconda® Distribution has become my go-to portal for data science. With Anaconda Navigator, I can effortlessly launch applications, manage conda packages, environments, and channels, all without needing to rely on command-line interfaces (CLI).
Jupyter Notebook App: Imagine a server-client application that allows editing and running notebook documents right from your web browser. That’s exactly what the Jupyter Notebook App offers. It can be executed on a local desktop without internet access or installed on a remote server for internet-based access.
It’s just the beginning of the 6 month journey and we have barely scratched the surface but I am excited about the possibilities ahead.
I’m immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn from esteemed faculty David R. Martinez Devavrat Shah and program management team at MIT Professional Education and collaborate with such a talented cohort. The knowledge and experiences gained during this program will undoubtedly help me in solving real world problems.
Looking forward to sharing more updates as my learning journey unfolds. Stay tuned for exciting developments!
